In 2008, EAA Chapter 857 is sending two Young Eagles to the EAA Young Eagles summer Air Academy in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
They are K. Gallagher and M. Portman. Check the link above for more information.

So what will your flight be like?
The biggest question on your mind might be about the actual flight. So what should you expect? First of all, you will have a brief discussion of what makes an airplane fly. Next you will be escorted to a gateway where an EAA member will take you safely to your aircraft.
After boarding, your pilot will explain what will happen during the flight. This might include talking about the airplane; reviewing an aeronautical chart (or map) and identifying ground reference points during the flight. Once you are ready to go flying, your pilot will help you buckle your seat belt and describe the interior working of the airplane, including some of the instruments.
Once in the air, you'll see the earth and sky in a new, exciting way. Most Young Eagle flights last between 15 and 20 minutes. Once back on the ground, there will be additional time for you to ask the EAA members questions about the flight. Ask away! And don't forget, you'll also receive an official Young Eagles certificate, which is signed, by your personal pilot and our Chairman Harrison Ford.
We look forward to adding your name to the ever-growing list of EAA Young Eagles!
The EAA Young Eagles program was launched in 1992 to give interested young people, like you, an opportunity to go flying in a general aviation airplane. These flights are offered free of charge and are made possible through the continuing generosity of EAA member volunteers. There is no cost nor obligation, before or after the flight.
Participation is easy. Simply view our Upcoming Events at the Zelienople airport (in the list at left) to find the next Young Eagles flight event. Then come to the airport that day and arrange for your flight. See Location - PJC (at left) to find the airport.
Any Young Eagle is eligible for a free flight if you are at least eight years old and not yet eighteen years old.
You will need a form --available at the event --completed and signed by a parent/guardian before your flight. This form also enrolls you in the Young Eagles national log book, and provides you with a commemorative certificate after your flight.
